We are currently for a Senior Project Manager for our client, a NSW Government agency based in Sydney Olympic Park. This is an initial 12 month contract (with possibility of extension) and a daily rate of $1350 - $1500 per day + super, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week. Please note that experience in delivering water, wastewater or treatment plant projects is essential for this role.

The purpose of the position is to successfully manage the delivery of predominantly medium to high risk/complexity projects to plan, within the Regional Annual Integrated Works Program. The Program includes capital works, maintenance and facilities management services, tactical renewal and minor works projects

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage the successful delivery of predominantly medium risk/ complexity projects within the region from initiation through to close out and handover
  • Contribute to the development of the Annual Integrated Works Program across any of the following - Maintenance Services, Facilities Management Services, Tactical Renewals, Minor works (<$5m), Professional Services, Design and Construction Works ($5-10m+ in project value)
  • Oversee medium risk/complexity projects managed by Project Managers, as required, providing support and leadership to enable the effective delivery of projects from project initiation through to hand over and close out.
  • Prepare Business Cases for medium to high risk/ complexity projects to meet client expectations, including options identification, analysis and recommendation.
  • Ensure Quality, Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental plans are developed, reviewed, approved and monitored

Candidate Requirements:

  • At least 10-15 years of Construction and Project Management experience
  • Client Side Project Management experience at Senior Project Manager level delivering large multi-faceted projects is essential
  • Experience delivering water, wastewater or water treatment projects as either a client side, consultancy or contractor
  • Civil/Mechanical Qualifications or similar
  • Previous leadership and experience in managing teams would be beneficial
