Project Manager - Mining - Electrical

About the Role:

Reporting to the Superintendent Mods & Ops projects, you will draw on your proficient leadership and technical capabilities to plan, manage and execute assigned projects at site. As part of a highly collaborative team, you will work with all internal and external stakeholders and manage engineering contractors to achieve the right outcome for the business. This role is based at Saraji Mine, Central Queensland.

Your responsibilities:

  • Prioritise the execution of works and focus on critical tasks to ensure their safe and reliable delivery
  • Manage the planning, safe execution, and commissioning of approved Modifications and Small Projects and deliver work on scope, schedule, cost and safety targets
  • Engage the operation across all departments, including key stakeholders, suppliers, vendors and contractors
  • Actively investigate and implement safety, productivity, and cost initiatives across site
  • Lead construction and commissioning activities for projects and manage relevant risks
  • Delivery of assigned works inline with the BHP project management process and the Site Safety and Health Management system
  • Create a culture of care by being a visible safety leader and by engaging, developing and coaching the teams you work with;

Essential Skills/Competencies:

As an experienced supervisor your management skills will be proficient, as will your ability to influence and build relationship with a range of stakeholders. You will possess a "step-up", "can do" attitude and the willingness to take on responsibilities and deliver on Saraji stretch targets. Additionally, the following personal qualities and qualifications are essential:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, preferably Electrical or Project Management
  • Strong people management skills, with demonstrated experience leading workgroups and contractors
  • Current Coal Board Medical
  • Current S1, S2, S3 & G2 Competencies
  • A clear focus on safe, planned and reliable delivery
  • The proven ability to communicate plans clearly and concisely
  • Strong communication, people and leadership skills

The role is offered on a 5:2 basis with flexibility (4 or:3 considered)

The role is offered with residential, DIDO and FIFO options.
