Position title: Project Manager - Work Delivery/ Infrastructure and Delivery - Electricity Infrastructure
Contract Estimation Duration: 12 Months +
Company Type / Size: Semi-State Government
Location: Wallgrove - Western Sydney
Salary / Rate: TBC
Purpose of this position:
The Project Manager is responsible, in conjunction with the Senior Program Manager and Program Managers, for the delivery of projects across the Client's network. This role will require sound project management experience to ensure that projects are completed to appropriate technical, work health & safety, environmental, budget, time, statutory and quality standard requirements.

General Requirements:

  • Manage the execution of all phases of the project to achieve completion within agreed budget, time and accepted quality standards. This will require time on site.
  • Develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant financial requirements
  • Analysis and management of project schedules and program
  • Monitor and report to management on project progress, cost and performance against program and budget targets using corporate tools
  • Provide advice, information, reports and submissions on project performance to achieve project objectives
  • Ensure that project risks are identified, assessed and updated. Monitor and report to management on project risks and issues
  • Ensure all audit and related outcomes (Incident Report in ARMS) are dealt with in a timely manner and not allowed to become overdue without appropriate reason

    Technical Scope:
  • High standard of communication and report writing skills, personal integrity and professionalism
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian Standards, Client Policies and Procedures and Government policy guidelines, which govern safety, engineering design, environmental assessment for the implementation of transmission line and substation projects
  • The position requires high level interpersonal skills to clearly convey ideas including complex technical issues to inform, influence and persuade or direct the work of others both verbally and in written form is required.
  • An ability to understand and interpret drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to assess time/cost/labour estimates for projects and services.
  • Experience with Corporate IT applications
  • Knowledge of substation and/or transmission line design, construction and commissioning including generator connections is preferred.
  • Prepare specifications, establish and manage contracts.
  • Negotiate with contractors and monitor contractor performance
  • Manage contract risk and liabilities
  • Recommend suitable tenders following examination of offers against technical and commercial conformance to specifications.


    Education:
  • Tertiary qualifications at degree level in either Electrical or Civil Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
  • Project management qualifications are highly desirable.
  • Experienced in the management of projects, and includes investigation, specification preparation, construction management and contract administration
