Chandler Macleod are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager for an exciting opportunity with our client who is specialised in the delivery of engineering and planning of major construction projects spanning across a range of industries including water facilities, commercial infrastructure, urban development, transport, civil and structural engineering.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for direct and oversee the on site flow of work, materials and equipment and coordinate and direct the on site activities of civil engineering projects.
This role is based in northern Victoria in Melbourne and requires visiting construction site in rural Victoria.

Responsibilities
  • Direct and oversee construction projects from conception to completion while monitoring compliance with safety and building regulations.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and the construction team to meet contractual conditions of performance.
  • Prepare external and internal reports relating to job status, daily progress, estimates, and deliverables.
  • Negotiate agreement terms, manage construction contract drafts, and obtain permits to analyse and mitigate risks.
  • Communicate with the responsible parties to ensure quality construction exceeds company standards and proper industry techniques and processes are utilised
  • Review projects on a daily basis to ensure quality construction standards exist and estimates remain within budget.
  • Supervise construction projects to ensure they are completed on time and exceed the customer’s requirements.
  • Work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment to plan and coordinate all aspects of the building process from hiring contractors to working with engineers, architects, and vendors.
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Building Construction, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture
  • Solid experience in project management within construction
  • Comfortable reading and understanding blueprints and drawings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer software
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction, engineering, and architecture principles
  • Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs
  • High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions
  • Strong leadership and management skills
