Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Project Management Services Officer on a contract for 12 months with potential extension of 4 Month.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • engage with relevant stakeholders, including attending meetings on behalf of RPAS Branch, to validate project management plans, schedules. and approaches across the following work streams:
    • registration and accreditation systems and solution development within Information Technology Branch (ITB)
    • levy legislation consultation and development with Finance Branch
  • communications, client services and industry education with Stakeholder Engagement Division (SED)
  • ensure adequate oversight of the project activities led by RPAS Branch, using an appropriate project management methodology aligned with Department's project management methodology, and taking into consideration related activities across the project
  • oversee implementation planning and readiness activities including:
    • business acceptance testing and sign-off of IT solutions
    • business readiness across department business areas (Aviation Group, ITB, SED)
    • planning for transition and embedding to business as usual (functions, processes people)
  • monitor project deliverables, risk, and issues relating to the implementation of the registration levy and recreational drone registration and accreditation scheme, across the various work streams and undertake schedule management and re-planning activities including:
    • implement risk treatments as required to meet project deadlines
    • schedule and resource modelling to identify scenarios to mitigate changes to project parameters
  • coordinate with the various stakeholders across department to share information and decisions relevant to the project activities, and
  • attend daily meetings with the Branch Manager RPAS and RPAS Branch staff.

Skills & Experience:

  • experienced in Project Management who will have day-to-day responsibility for project managing delivery of the RPAS Branch workstream.
  • It would be advantageous for the specified personnel to have existing knowledge of department RPAS registration and accreditation project.
