About the role
We are partnering with a renowned organisation, of whom specialises in Iron Ore within the Mining sector, to secure the services of an experienced professional to perform the role of Project Engineer/Manager. This assignment will cover a period of 12 months, on a (FIFO) 5/2/4/3 or (Residential) Monday - Friday roster.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to the Company Charter values
  • Undertake quality field leadership activities
  • The development and execution of multiple projects to a defined scope, budget and schedule, with compliance to standards and specifications, and in accordance with the Company Small Project Management Framework
  • Engage and manage contractors consistent with the Company Contractor Management Framework
  • Manage the project technical requirements in accordance with the Rail Systems Engineering Framework
  • Complete End of Month reporting, demonstrating control, management and forecasting of all project costs,
  • Review of contractor schedules and updating of BHP P6 schedule, including critical path and risk and opportunity reviews
  • Provide input into the portfolio budgets, plans and schedules and where required, supporting feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, impact assessments and project business cases to obtain project approvals
  • Producing the specified key deliverables, including documentation, within projects in a timely manner and to an appropriate quality.

    To be successful in this role, you will require the following:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Construction or Engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • Previous project management experience, with Rail project management experience an advantage
  • Proven ability to work autonomously with a proactive and problem solving mindset
  • Strong commercial and contractor management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage a variety of stakeholders effectively
  • Demonstrated high-level negotiation skills with the ability to influence both internal and external departments and contractors
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Valid Full C Class Driver Licence at a minimum
  • Pass a full Pre Employment Rail Medical
