We are seeking to engage and experienced Project Engineer - Rail Execution Projects to join the Chandler Macleod Team at our client's Port Hedland Site.

This is an initial 12 month labour hire contract FIFO role ex-Perth only on a 5:2 | 4:3 roster with an immediate start and strong possibility of extension. The role is to support the Lead Project Engineer - Rail Execution Projects in the project management and delivery of capital projects that include various multidisciplinary rail projects including track renewals, track upgrades, civil works, earthworks, signalling upgrades and communications upgrades.

The purpose of this role is:

Providing skills relevant to enable the successful study and delivery of track renewal and upgrade projects. Primary role description is to manage the delivery of RCU Project wayside execution works. Secondary roles will be to support Delivery and review of signalling, communications ATP and downstream systems, track, civil designs. Development and subsequent delivery of signalling, communications ATP and downstream systems construction scopes of work.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Unrestricted Electrical License Western Australia
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (or equivalent) Desirable
  • Strong skills across operations, Contractual and financial planning management, people management and leadership.
  • Adherence to the highest standards in Health & Safety.
  • Strong technical knowledge with respect to Signalling and Communications engineering.
  • Proven ability to apply skills in surveying and track signalling and communications maintenance/renewals activities.
  • Knowledge of heavy haul rail maintenance and renewals practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • The ability to critically review research work, construction plans, specification, drawings and provide workable and reliable documentation.


Candidates must also be able to:

  • Pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug Screen
  • Provide a current WA Drivers Licence
  • Provide proof of full Covid vaccination
