Join our client, a leading global mining company with a highly reputable brand within in the industry. We are currently hiring a Project Engineer for the Major Studies Team based at our clients fantastic Perth CBD office. As the Project Engineer Studies you will lead individual small studies or participate in or deliver portions of larger studies under the direction of a lead or principal. The role requires a developing application of study and project practices, along with critical and strategic thinking to ensure study scopes are fit-for-purpose

Key responsibilities include:
 
  • The health, safety and environment compliance and outcomes for assigned studies
  • Planning, execution and delivery of assigned pre-feasibility studies; objectively, efficiently and effectively exploring the business cases of potential investment opportunities
  • Development of comprehensive commercially relevant business cases evaluating investment opportunities
  • Development of budgets and schedules for assigned studies
  • Compliance with reporting and compliance to approval governance requirements

Qualifications & experience
 
  • Relevant degree or extensive demonstrated experience (Geoscience, Mining, Chemical/Metallurgy Engineering, Chemistry, or related)
  • 5+ years of experience in heavy industry or relevant alternative experience
  • Experience in development of project scopes of work, budget, schedule, plans
  • Some exposure to operating facilities and mines or other major industrial undertakings.
  • Some experience in working with diverse stakeholder groups
  • Ability to facilitate teamwork and promote collaboration within an organisation;
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills; able to communicate at all levels in the organisation;
  • Basic economic analysis and evaluation skills
  • Advanced computer literacy and business software skills (Word/Excel).
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
