Chandler Macleod has an exciting opportunity for a highly experience Project Engineer with strong experience in Capital Projects execution to join our clients Capital Project & Improvement team.

The Site Capital Projects - Project Engineer role reports to the Capital Projects & Improvement Project Manager and is responsible for safe, quality and on budget delivery of an assigned capital project portfolio. This will also include but is not limited to delivering safety, reliability, and maintenance demand reduction improvement projects across the site.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Safe, quality and on budget delivery of an assigned capital project portfolio
  • Budget, scope, schedule and manage the full project life cycle
  • Liaising with relevant departments
  • Raising requisitions and pursuing purchase orders as required
  • All other general Project Engineer activities
  • Ensure correct application of Health & Safety standards including Change Management
  • Monitor quality assurance of critical processes
  • Achieve targets set for defined sections of area budgets

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Minimum 5+ years Fixed Plant Maintenance, Engineering, Major Projects, or Capital Projects experience on a mine site
  • Tertiary Qualification in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  • A proven ability to coach, mentor and influence change in the contracting and owners' team
  • Proven ability to understand planning and budgetary functions
  • Proven Project Management mechanical discipline experience working and directing contractors in all aspects of fixed plant equipment installations, Greenfield, and Brownfield.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and continual improvement focus
  • Knowledge of relevant Mines legislations and regulations
  • Knowledge of computer management systems, including SAP
  • Great communication skill
  • Planning, organisational, budgeting, scheduling and coordination skills
