Are you an experienced Project Engineer seeking a new opportunity to #unleashyourpotential in the WA Mining Industry?

The Autonomy department of one of our clients, a well-known entity in the Western Australian Mining Industry is currently in need of Project Engineer with a Mechatronic, Process Control, or Automation background/experience to play a pivotal role in delivering an innovative project. The Autonomy department focusses on developing and deploying new technology within the business.

This is an initial 12-month labour hire role working out of their East Perth office, looking to start ASAP. The Project will be focused on the Processing Plant area of the business and will require the individual to champion the installation, and commissioning aspects of the project and be ultimately responsible for delivering it safely, on schedule, and within budget.

About the role:

  • Create and review detailed project documents such as scopes, designs, plans, schedule & budgets
  • Scoping, tendering, and managing minor procurement and construction contracts.
  • Overseeing onsite contractors completing minor construction works
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate budget and schedule forecasts for on-site works.
  • Manage project communications including escalation of issues with site and Perth teams.
  • 5:2 based in the Perth office with fortnightly trips to site for project updates. Loner site trips (8-14 day) potentially required during execution and commissioning phases.


About you:

  • A working knowledge of Processing Plants (preferably iron ore plants).
  • Undergraduate qualification in Mechatronics, Process Control or Electrical Engineering.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and continual improvement focus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience overseeing/assisting contractors completing minor construction works.
  • Effective and practical approach to managing on site safety
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel & SAP
