Chandler Macleod are seeking an experienced Project Assurance Specialist for an upcoming temporary assignment with our client based in Mile End.

About the role:
Provide project management assurance expertise and project support functions to ensure the delivery of the AMIP GIS Project under the Asset Management Improvement Programme within project cost and quality objectives.

The role will report to the Asset Management Systems Manager, Interstate Network and be functionally responsible for AMIP GIS Project Documentation Compliance.

As Project Management Assurance Specialist, you will provide day-to-day support to the AMIP GIS team to manage the requirements of the Project Management Process for the Projects and Work Packages currently underway within the GIS Project.
Key duties will include; internal project documentation audits, fulfilling reporting and risk management obligations, assisting in business case development and change management activities and ensuring the AMIP GIS Project meets all internal ARTC requirements of a large programme of works

As Project Management Assurance Specialist, you will be accountable for ensuring all AMIP GIS documentation is of a high standard, developing project monitoring processes and report on any non-conformances.

This role is a full-time contract position from 14 Nov 2020 to 30 Jun 2021 initially.

You will be responsible for;

  • Provide input and action to enable the successful implementation of the Project Management Plan.
  • Audit Project Management Plan and project documentation compliance in line with processes and procedures.
  • Provide project support functions to deliver the Project scope requirements.
  • Monitor the scheduling and planning of resources to achieve project deliverables and budgets.
  • Assist AMS GIS Specialist and AMS GIS Systems Specialist on delivery, financial progress and key issues tracking and reporting.
  • Ensure that a Change Management Plan, Change Impact Assessment and Risk Assessment for the project is developed in consultation with stakeholders to manage change, safety and commercial risks to facilitate decision making and minimize project risk
  • Manage, monitor and update Change and Risk Management Schedules throughout the Project lifecycle.
  • Collate and prepare the monthly reporting and periodic updates and reporting to senior management that may be required for the Project.
  • Ensure compliance with the project review requirements and undertake other duties as requested.
  • Assist in the development of contract packages for work required and manage the commercial requirements on behalf of ARTC.
  • Ensure that contracts are administered as per the Contract.


    Knowledge, skills and experience required for this role:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering and/or 7+ years of relevant experience in multi-disciplinary infrastructure project management
  • Proven experience in Project Management or Project Administration
  • Demonstrated ability and proficiency in O365 Suite, Financial Systems and MS Project
  • Eligible to hold a current Rail Infrastructure Worker (RIW) competency
  • Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work individually as well as in a team and contribute to team culture
  • Be a self-starter and possess excellent problem-solving skill
  • Drivers Licence
  • Extensive experience in network access arrangements in rail or a similar operating environment
  • Engineering qualifications

    The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre commencement checks which include - a National Criminal Hisotry Check and a pre employment medical.
