Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS5 Project Administration Officer on a contract for 7 months with potential extension 2x12 months.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordination and administration of project activities including mailbox monitoring and administering project related websites or portals
  • Coordinating document reviews and managing project approvals paperwork
  • Participating and supporting the development and maintenance of project documentation, processes and procedures
  • Assist with undertaking or participating in project risk assessments, implementation and management of effective controls;
  • Assisting with project briefings including coordinating meetings
  • Drafting correspondence
  • Maintaining records of vendor interactions
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and develop and maintain effective relationships;
  • Provide general project support
  • Follow all Agency policies, procedures and instructions and take reasonable care for your own health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills in building and sustaining relationships, including working closely with others as part of a team
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Willingness to adapt to changing environments where competing and changing priorities exist
  • Ability to identify, analyse and explain a problem as well as offer a workable solution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in project administration within a government environment
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of PRINCE2 project management methodology to support the delivery of successful projects (desirable)
  • Relevant Project Qualifications (desirable)

Essential Requirement:

  • Demonstrated experience in project administration within a government environment;
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting project documentation;
  • Well organised with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines to achieve outcomes
  • High level organisational, coordination and document management skills
  • Requirement to obtain and maintain relevant national police check, and security clearance in which Australian Citizenship is a condition of eligibility.
