Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Program Scheduler on a contract for 22 months.

Position Overview

The Program Scheduler is required to develop and support the maintenance of the LC4 Integrated Master Schedule. This schedule will include all of the moving parts within the LC4 Program as well as all known external activities that may impact the workload or priorities within the program. The schedule, and processes, must be capable of forecasting the impact of external activities to facilitate proactive prioritisation and planning. This will require maintenance of a large number of external relationships with various secretariats and stakeholders to ensure future activities are known. The program scheduler will also work closely with every member of the team regarding specific tasks/activities, as well as with the Tranche scheduler regarding the project/tranche activities being managed in cooperation with the relevant Delivery Group and/or Service Provider.

The position provides portfolio- and program-level schedule detail across the program and provides high-level schedule direction to the Tranche Scheduler. This position is required to identify potential future conflicts and propose actions far enough in advance to avoid conflicts across in-Service, in-Development, and proposed C4 capabilities. The program schedule must be capable of simply briefing the high level and critical elements of the schedule to senior management on a regular basis, as well as work with the detail when appropriate. This role works within the Capability Management Office (CMO) supporting the SO1 Capability Management and LC4 Program Operations and CLC Manager.

The following describes the tasks and requirements of the LC4 Program Scheduler:

  • Generate and maintain (weekly) the tranche schedule.
  • Conduct schedule estimation and analysis that supports project management staff to address risks to achieving schedule milestones.
  • Generate weekly reports and dashboard summaries that identify schedule risks, key activities, upcoming activities and dependency mapping.
  • Prepare monthly schedule summaries for program governance forums including IPMT, and Capability Management Boards.
  • Support audits and other Program governance activities.
  • Provide support, within discipline, to other functional areas in Land C4 Program and the CASG delivery group Integrated Master Scheduler.

Skillset and Experience Requirements

The following essential skills, experience and attributes are sought for Level 4 LC4 Program Scheduler:

Skills and experience required:

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, databases and information systems
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Project, and other scheduling tools used by Defence including Project Central and JIRA.
  • Proven experience in project schedule development.


  • Previous scheduling experience in Defence ICT projects.
  • Degree in relevant field.
