Position title: Program Schedule Manager - Works Delivery/ Construction Programs
Contract Estimation Duration: 6 Months + Possible further 6 Months.
Company Type / Size: Tier 1 Commercial - Power Co.
Location: Eastern Creek - Sydney
Salary / Rate: Pay - $500+PD + Super. Up to $900 PD.
Purpose of this position:
The Program Schedule Manager develops and maintains project schedules for the entire construction program.They develop detailed and accurate resource plans to enable the delivery of the program with the most appropriate
efficient resources. They implement project scheduling processes and systems, drive associated improvements,
and facilitate effective reporting and management of projects. To do this they will develop and maintain effective
working relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders. They will review contract delivery
schedules to ensure appropriate site management and project coordination services are provided.

    Technical Scope:
     Develop and maintain project schedules compete with detailed project resources in PPMS for the entire construction program.
     Develop detailed and accurate resource plans to enable the delivery of the program with the most appropriate efficient resources. Work with internal stakeholders to optimise and refine schedule until an acceptable outcome is reached.
     Proactively negotiate deadlines and resource levelling issues with Works Delivery and other business units.
     Integrate multiple project schedules into a master program(s) schedule and determining and executing solutions for managing conflicting schedules.
     Developing and implementing project scheduling processes and systems, driving and executing associated improvements, and facilitating effective reporting and management of projects.
     Review contract delivery schedules to ensure appropriate site management and project coordination services are provided.
     Participate in tenders' program evaluation process.
     Construct, plan and foresee project risks and develop contingencies to project schedule and numerous activities.
     Validate the schedule against the overall project objectives.
     Prepare reports/briefs on project schedule performance.
     Communicate effectively the outcome of the schedule development or update process by presenting targeted and relevant information from the schedule in effective formats - reporting the right information to the right stakeholders at the right time.

    Education:
  • Tertiary qualifications at degree level in an appropriate discipline or extensive, equivalent relevant experience.
  • Extensive understanding of project management, program administration and reporting in a capital-intensive industry.
  • Extensive experience in using and managing MS Project schedules for projects in the power industry.
  • Subject matter expert in using MS Project to manage integrated Master Schedule and supporting detailed schedules.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with an understanding of substations and transmission project requirements.
  • High level negotiation skills.
  • High level interpersonal skills and oral and written skills.
  • Experience with large substations and transmission line projects is desirable.
