Chandler Macleod are proud to be partnering with Cancer Council QLD in the recruitment of a Program Lead - Major Gifts. The opportunity to work for a high profile, not for profit organisation such as Cancer Council QLD attracts a certain type of person. This position is a meaningful role with purpose and would be ideally suited to an experienced Program Lead, who is a resilient, collaborative and responsible for deepening relationships with existing and prospective major donors, through a variety of contact mechanisms across the state.

This is a relationship-based role, requiring a high degree of emotional intelligence, diplomacy, compassion, empathy and professionalism, as well as an ability to inspire support for Cancer Council Queensland.

About the Role:

  • 40% Leadership: 60% Technical
  • Refine and drive a proactive Major Gifts Program to significantly tied and untied income for CCQ.
  • Actively grow CCQ's income from high value donors through strategic relationship management.
  • Support the CCQ in the stewardship of high value donors and inbuilding new relationships.
  • Identify CCQ's current (and past) major donors and develop appropriate engagement strategies.
  • Work with Fundraising and Marketing Communication team members across the state to ensure opportunities to engage major donors.
  • Refine and redevelop recording/reporting of major donor information and contributions via CRM and PowerBI.
  • Collaborate with the Gifts in Wills team as appropriate in development of proposals & pitches to high value individuals

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Minimum five years' experience in successful major gift fundraising and high value asks, or extensive experience in sales.
  • Proven track record in achieving revenue targets and income growth and writing successful funding proposals.
  • Superb interpersonal skills and a proven ability to develop genuine long-term relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including public speaking and presenting.
  • A high level of professionalism, ethics and integrity.
  • Proven experience in project/campaign management with highly developed project management skills, highly agile with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Willing to travel within Queensland as needed and ability to work outside business hours occasionally.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent in marketing, fundraising, or business.
  • Experience in the not for profit sector and a commitment to fundraising as a profession.
  • Some event management experience.
  • Advanced computer skills in line with contemporary technology.
  • A current driver's licence is essential.
