Chandler Macleod is currently seeking a highly experienced Production Engineer with sound knowledge of Naval/Maritime ship systems. Reporting to the Platform Engineer, this role will provide professional engineering support to the sustainment and production teams who are responsible for conducting planned and corrective maintenance tasks on the Armidale Class Patrol Boats.

Essential Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast paced environment with multiple and competing demands
  • Good people skills and a proven ability to communicate in a positive manner with internal and external customers
  • Sound analysis, analytical and judgement skills
  • Ability to successfully work with people at all levels of an organisation including as part of a team
  • Sound CAD software skills

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of Naval/Maritime ship systems
  • Experience in ship repair and maintenance
  • Experience in asset and project management
  • Experience in technical risk management
  • Relevant drafting, technical and task management experience highly desirable
  • Customer orientation (internal and external)
  • A proven ability to undertake effective stakeholder engagement across a broad base
  • Providing leadership and assisting team members in meeting contractual requirements


  • Appropriate qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Marine Engineering.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen
  • National Police Clearance
  • Australian Defence Security Clearance
