This manufacturing company within the scientific industry are about to undergo a huge transformation project. With employees moving on to this project they are looking for a Product Manager with a strong sales background to come in and work at their Port Melbourne site.
Key Responsibilities for the role will include:
- Direct sales of LabTec products into selected territories with a focus on high potential accounts and Value solutions
- Technical and professional training of salespeople
- Salesforce guidance in regard to competitor awareness, specific opportunity advice, account penetration, database management, pipeline management and forecasting
- Submission and achievement of monthly and quarterly forecast
- Monitoring and continuous improvement of sales KPIs including 'Lead to Sale', 'Quote to Sale' and discounting trends
- Development of a marketing strategy to enhance the brand image
- Assessment and improvement of database quality
- Safety and demonstration stock optimization
- Monitoring of shipping and logistics systems to verify customers receive the correct product in the time-frame expected
- Detect and realize segment and key account trends and opportunities
- Calculate competitor market share by product family
- Maintain the ERP product master file
- Localization and implementation of global strategy
- Optimize factory and regional training opportunities
- Recommend and support product modifications required for local applications
The suitable candidate will have a successful background in sales within the scientific industry with experience in marketing their companies brand. You will be a strong leader and mentor to some of the sales people in your team, and be able to develop and train these people. You will be used to selling a premium product, so used to selling on quality rather than price. This is a busy role that will include travel interstate a few times a year and the occasional international trip.
