This manufacturing company within the scientific industry are about to undergo a huge transformation project. With employees moving on to this project they are looking for a Product Manager with a strong sales background to come in and work at their Port Melbourne site.

Key Responsibilities for the role will include:

  • Direct sales of LabTec products into selected territories with a focus on high potential accounts and Value solutions
  • Technical and professional training of salespeople
  • Salesforce guidance in regard to competitor awareness, specific opportunity advice, account penetration, database management, pipeline management and forecasting
  • Submission and achievement of monthly and quarterly forecast
  • Monitoring and continuous improvement of sales KPIs including 'Lead to Sale', 'Quote to Sale' and discounting trends
  • Development of a marketing strategy to enhance the brand image
  • Assessment and improvement of database quality
  • Safety and demonstration stock optimization
  • Monitoring of shipping and logistics systems to verify customers receive the correct product in the time-frame expected
  • Detect and realize segment and key account trends and opportunities
  • Calculate competitor market share by product family
  • Maintain the ERP product master file
  • Localization and implementation of global strategy
  • Optimize factory and regional training opportunities
  • Recommend and support product modifications required for local applications

    The suitable candidate will have a successful background in sales within the scientific industry with experience in marketing their companies brand. You will be a strong leader and mentor to some of the sales people in your team, and be able to develop and train these people. You will be used to selling a premium product, so used to selling on quality rather than price. This is a busy role that will include travel interstate a few times a year and the occasional international trip.
