Your Role and Responsibilities: As a Procurement Specialist - Capital, you will play a pivotal role in managing all aspects of sourcing and supply for allocated capital projects. Acting as the single point of accountability, you will collaborate closely with the Procurement Manager - Capital and project engineering teams to align project objectives with procurement strategies. Your responsibilities include:
1. Business Alignment
- Support and facilitate the procurement function for capital projects, addressing customer and supplier queries.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers, ensuring service, quality, and financial performance objectives are met.
- Drive standardization, process improvements, and supplier integration to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Understand project requirements and develop procurement strategies aligned with project objectives.
- Identify and qualify suppliers for project execution, from scoping to implementation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business needs for materials, services, and outsourcing.
- Identify and prioritize near and long-term opportunities within projects to leverage Alcoa's purchasing capabilities.
- Support the development and execution of key category strategies within the region.
- Ensure alignment and coordination of project strategies with the overall program of work.
- Manage supplier contracts and obligations to ensure timely delivery of goods/services, adhering to specifications and project schedules.
- Maximize commercial advantage through effective sourcing strategies.
- Negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Mitigate commercial risks while reducing acquisition and ownership costs.
- Monitor and manage supplier progress, identifying and addressing schedule and specification risks.
- Engage in challenging capital projects and deliver results that drive Alcoa's success.
- Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including project teams, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Contribute to cost savings, process optimization, and working capital improvement.
- Showcase your leadership, communication, and influencing skills.

- Bachelor's degree in Strategic Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CIPS, CPM, APICS, or P.E. is beneficial.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related role.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data mining tools.
- Sound knowledge of procurement and business processes, coupled with initiative and the ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
- Familiarity with capital project delivery and management processes.
