Procurement Specialist
An exciting new opportunity for a 6-month temporary position has arisen with our highly sought client. We are seeking a Procurement Specialist for a role based out in Frankston.
 
The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the business in sourcing, negotiating and procuring a wide variety of spend categories and drive value for money outcomes, ensure compliance with internal governance policies and Victoria Government Purchasing Board framework.
 
 
Key Accountabilities
  • Monitor compliance with company Procurement Policy, Processes and Financial Delegations
  • Provide advice to the business on the full procurement cycle (source 2 contract, procure to pay). This may involve leading and facilitating Request for Quotes (RFX) process, managing tender administration, supplier reporting and analysis.
  • Ensure probity requirements are adhered to for all market approach activities.
  • Prepare tender/contract templates and documentation for tendering of works and services
  • Provide Procurement support services such as raising requisitions, loading contracts, generating Purchase Orders and reconciling invoices.
  • Data Analytics/reporting and admin support to the team
 
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Knowledge required to perform at a competent level in this role:
 
  • Sound knowledge in sourcing and procurement methodologies
  • Sound stakeholder engagement capabilities and influencing skills
  • Sound knowledge of legal principles and contract drafting
  • Good understanding of the procure to pay process
  • Experience in VGPB guidelines and Social Procurement Frameworks
  • Proficiency in MS Office is required along with experience in SAP/Oracle or equivalent ERP
  • Effective time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 
Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
  • Degree with emphasis on the areas of business, economics, finance, procurement or legal, or comparable professional education
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in procurement
