Our State Government client is seeking to engage a Procurement Specialist on a contract for 3 months.

Objective: To achieve the delivery of Roads ACT's essential and time constrained operations while facilitating compliance with relevant department policies and legislation.

Primary Task: Lead the preparation of procurement and contract documentation with assistance from technical program managers.

Detail: Document drafting will include, but is not limited to: procurement plan minutes and variations, panel or contract management plans, requests for tender/quotes, statements of requirements (scope of works), evaluation plans, risk plans, delegate approval requests, confidential text requests, and contract variations.


The following capabilities form the criteria that are required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

  • Demonstrated experience with procurement processes and contract management, preferably within a government environment.
  • Demonstrated high level communication (oral and written) skills and the ability to negotiate outcomes with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, as it applies to procurement activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, across teams and proactively manage competing deadlines.

Skills & Experience:

  • A qualification in government procurement and contracting and/or substantial relevant experience, preferably within a government environment.
  • Preferable - Engineering or infrastructure management and/or substantial relevant experience.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a National Police Check.
