Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Procurement Contractor on a contract for 12 months.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Provide high quality procurement advice, support and customer service in a demanding environment to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders using both verbal and written communication.
  • Draft, review and interpret complex procurement and contract documentation and correctly process contract details using Procurement Essentials.
  • Assist with establishment, implementation and management of panels and ongoing contracts to ensure smooth service delivery and access to services by Agency staff and other external stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage networks with internal and external stakeholders to support proactive procurement and contract management.
  • Collate and check statistical data for mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Prepare a range of written materials, including Senate Estimates briefs, responses to Questions on Notice, strategic reports and operational guidance documents.

The successful candidate will require the following:

  • Communication - Facilitates consultation and effective negotiation, and presents written advice and reports requiring reasoning and precision of expression
  • Collaboration - Works collaboratively with team members and with a range of internal and external clients
  • Decision making - Utilises sound critical thinking skills to analyse/evaluate complex issues, developing reasoned conclusions based on a reasoned process
  • IT proficiency - Advanced proficiency in relevant systems and databases.


  • Experience in the provision of procurement advice and support and understanding of the application of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 and the Commonwealth Procurement Rules
  • Understanding and willingness to learn and apply department's Procurement Policy, department's Secretary's Instructions, department's Resource Management Instructions and use of the Procurement Essentials system
  • Highly desirable - Certificate IV in Government Procurement and Contracts
  • Highly desirable - Experience in the use of SAP

  • Baseline security clearance or ability to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
