Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a EL1 Procurement Officer on a contract for 12 months with potential extension.

About the Role:

As part of the SRES reforms, the successful contractor will:

  • Develop market selection process documentation and relevant tools including (but not limited to):
    • government process materials (e.g. approach to market, application form, tracking tools, notices)
    • materials and documents supporting panel members and delegated decision-maker
    • template contract(s)
  • Work with probity advisors, legal services and agency subject matter experts throughout the selection process to support successful project delivery
  • Manage probity advice service contract.
  • Conduct internal and external stakeholder engagement including providing direction for responses to enquiries relating to the agency's selection processes.
  • Manage staff providing project administration support and conduct other related duties as required.

Skills and experience

The following skills experience and skills are required to support delivery of the project work.

Australian Government procurement/selection

  • Demonstrated experience working in a government operating environment
  • Demonstrated experience delivering an end-to-end government approach to market and selection process according to Commonwealth Procurement frameworks and rules

Stakeholder engagement

  • Experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders, for example:
    • working with internal staff and applicants throughout the agency's application and selection process (for example consultation, managing enquiries, debriefing with unsuccessful parties)
    • working with probity advisors, external clients, industry, or government agencies to support integrity in selection processes

Project management

  • Demonstrated experience in managing project administration resources and delivering project work (project management skills are desirable). For example:
    • project initiation, planning, and monitoring delivery against project milestones (including identifying risk and contingencies/mitigations)
    • contribute to and enhance project documentation (e.g. GANTT charts, business process maps, flows and decision points, record keeping).

  • Excellent organisation, planning and record keeping skills including attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, across teams and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to acquire knowledge quickly and prioritise and manage work
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and to work well under pressure in a flexible environment with different internal teams
  • Demonstrated experience with managing staff, government procurement activities and contract management
