Why the team needs you

Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager - Strategy, Contracts and Procurement you will be responsible to lead, and actively manage to support the district procurement processes through the review, implementation and management of state and local contracts for goods and services across all disciplines as well as;
  • Maintain effective relationships and communication with all stakeholders to ensure that corporate goals and priorities of the Business are met.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of business plans.
  • Ability to make judgements and may in some cases, be delegated responsibility to approve changes in standards, practices, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to develop, monitor and reach predicted outcomes to strategic and business plans.
  • Highly developed and effective negotiation and delegation skills.
What you'll bring to the team

To be successful in this role, you will be a highly motivated Procurement Manager with exceptional leadership experience. You will provide support in the planning, implementation and evaluation of both State and Local Contracts Management, to best meet the needs of stakeholders, and participate in and/or support the negotiation of contracts with third party suppliers as well as;
  • Identify opportunities for supply chain improvements leading to decreased costs, procurement savings opportunities, through standardisation and rationalisation of goods and services with the overall to achieve cost savings benefits.
  • Provide advice, support and regular reports to the Commercial Manager, Strategy, Contracts and Procurement on matters related to procurement, and work in consultation with the Senior Executive Staff to coordinate the selection, nomination and
    training of representatives from to State Contract Management review working parties (CRGs) with Health Support Services and NSW Procurement.
  • Report on the progress of procurement related activities and initiatives to the MNCLHD Procurement Advisory Board.
  • Proactively educate, guide and mentor staff across MNCLHD on best practice relating to procurement of goods and services, using the principles and guidelines on procurement from the Ministry of Health.
  • Review purchase requisition activities across MNCLHD for compliance with the Ministry of Health and the MNCLHD procurement policy and procedures.
  • Actively promotes and participates in patient safety and ongoing quality improvement programs and engages in practices that promote the best possible health outcomes for patients/clients, and supports a culture of patient safety, clinical quality and innovation.
Important must have's
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or extensive relevant experience in a large and diverse service industry organisation, or a combination of study and work experience.
  • Demonstrated excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills including highly developed ability to consult, negotiate and delegate effectively with a diverse range of people.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical and complex problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities to ensure quality outcomes and timely delivery of services.
  • Highly developed ability to negotiate and discuss procurement matters across all levels, including with, stakeholders and senior management teams in relation to contracts, commercial agreements, tenders and other procurement processes, with a
    demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and influence outcomes
  • Advanced computer skills utilising varied and appropriate software programs (e.g. word processing, data management systems and spreadsheets)
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities in managing commercial relationships and implementing supplier performance management frameworks.
  • Highly developed and effective management and conflict resolution skills.
  • Current Drivers Licence and ability to travel as required.
