More about the role:
We are seeking energetic and highly organised Procurement Managers. You will be responsible for providing detailed technical, professional, and/or policy advice in relation to complex problems and may assist in strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.

The role may may involve management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows.

Occasional travel will be required to office locations to meet with various teams across the organisation.

Duties of the role:
Under limited direction, the Procurement Manager's responsibilities include:

  • Providing expertise and technical knowledge across a range of programs or activities for the agency.
  • Providing supervisory and leadership to team member.
  • Contributing to accurate and specialised advice including anticipating problems and contributing to issues management.
  • Ensuring knowledge of and compliance with legislative, financial and administrative frameworks, government decision-making processes and agency guidelines and regulations.
  • Setting priorities for the work area, maintaining team cohesion, and ensuring quality of outputs for the work area.
  • Proposing and facilitating process improvement strategies to workplace practices.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of risk management and risk assessment activities within sphere of responsibility.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Our ideal candidate must have knowledge of end-to-end procurement activities, including familiarity with purchasing systems and processes.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of the role and functions of the agency and an understanding of how these relate to a work area.
  • Previous experience in a similar role would be highly regarded.
  • Certificate IV in Government Procurement and Contracts, or similar.
  • Experience within the public sector is highly regarded
  • Proven experience in developing team objectives for short term tasks and strategic planning for longer-term initiatives.
  • You MUST be an Australian Citizen or NZ citizen and eligible to clear a national police check to be successful in this role
