Procurement & Contract Manager
  • ASAP start to September 2023
  • Great Location – Docklands CBD
  • Approx. 5 months assignment
An opportunity exists for an experienced Procurement and Contracts Manager to join a Victorian Government organisation based in the heart of Melbourne for a minimum 5-month contract from ASAP to September.

About the role:
The Strategic IT Contract Management & Admin. Unit, which forms part of the Department’s Business Management Services and sits within the Office of the Chief Digital Officer, performs a critical role in managing high-value and strategically important IT contracts on behalf of our client.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overseeing a modest portfolio of IT contracts and ensuring compliance with the company Procurement Policy and Contract Management Framework and as well as relevant Victorian Government procurement policies.
  • Writing contract and procurement-related documentation such as Contract Review Reports, Variations to an Approved Contract (VTAC), Contract Management Plans and Briefing Notes.
  • Liaising with key internal and external stakeholders to progress contract extensions and renewals in a timely fashion.
Required Skills/Experience
  • Highly developed written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritise work and effectively manage multiple competing deadlines. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Experience working in the Victorian Government sector in the management of procurements and/or contracts, preferably for information technology and/or communication systems. 
  • Ability to largely work independently but also effectively collaborate with colleagues and peers, as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to get across new information and gain competency quickly.
Key Selection Criteria
  • Experience working in the Victorian Government sector in the management of procurements and/or contracts, preferably for information technology and/or communication systems. 
  • Highly developed written communication skills with experience developing reports and correspondence for presentation to senior management.
  • Well-developed organisational skills with demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver required outputs on time.
