Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Procurement & Admin Officer on a contract for 12 Months, with potential extensions of 2X 12 months.

Position Overview

The Digital Governance section is seeking a highly capable and experienced Procurement and Administration Officer to support the team on the procurement and contract management of Digital Services and provide support for project management activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and support end-to-end digital procurements across the branch, including for software, personnel and services.
  • Facilitate the drafting and completion of spending proposals, RFQs and contract documentation.
  • Upload, manage and review submissions across agency-specific and Whole of Government procurement and contract management tools (e.g. Technology1, Digital Marketplace and AusTender).
  • Liaise with vendors on pre-award enquiries, contract sign-off, and where necessary support contract negotiations.
  • Provide specialist advice and practical guidance to the branch on procurement and contract matters in accordance with Australian Government legislation and policy.
  • Support contract management activities including regular reporting and check-ins with suppliers and vendors, managing and building quality business relationships.
  • Prepare and support the timely and accurate reporting of financial and delivery performance across the Digital Services Branch.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of procurement and contract management processes in consultation with key stakeholders.
  • Assist with project management administrative functions on a large-scale project, including scheduling, reporting and working with stakeholders to meet outcomes on time, to high standards.

Our Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Recent, relevant experience in procurement and/or contract management and/or project administration.
  • Demonstrated experience ability to manage a high workload with excellent attention to detail and manage priorities accordingly.
  • The ability to:
    • manage time and plan own workload against performance expectations
    • communicate confidently in a clear and concise manner
    • build rapport and maintain stakeholder relationships
    • demonstrate personal resilience,
    • research and make sound decisions within established guidelines; and
    • Write in a project context.
  • Qualifications in procurement and/or contract management and/or project management, such as a Certificate IV in Government (Procurement & Contracts). (Desirable)
  • Experience and qualifications in project management. (Desirable)

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline clearance.
