Our client generates and delivers clean, renewable electricity into the SWIS on an annual basis and is a major contributor to WA's greenhouse gas reductions. Built over 18,000 hectares and with 111 wind turbines, the wind farm is capable of generating enough electricity to power 160,000 homes.

Currently there is unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to step into the highly visible role of Principal Engineer. This key position will see you accountable for engineering design, procurement, construction, performance monitoring and operations together with renewable assets.

You will be a key contributor to the long-term strategic planning, financial budgeting and additionally manage operational risk activities for the organisation.

Reporting directly into the CEO, responsibilities include:

  • Technical support & analysis
  • Input to technical budget spend
  • Internal & external stakeholder engagement
  • Risk management
  • Review, update and manage asset management plan
  • Project management including tender coordination
  • Wind farm maintenance management
  • Implement business policies, practices and procedures
  • Prepare reporting for budgets, targets ad forecasts for Management & Board
  • Technical advisor to Business Development team on renewable energy projects and opportunities
  • Oversight and management of site employees/resources

About you:

The successful candidate will bring Electrical Engineering qualifications and skills together with a working knowledge of maintenance and operational techniques applied to Wind Farms or Electricity Generation Assets. Your previous experience within a commercial consulting company and exposure to site operations will be essential to the business and this role. You will be an innovator, someone who questions the status quo and highly confident in presenting your case for improvement. The team are collaborative and inclusive and foster an environment where everyone pitches in when required. You will have a consultative approach and the mindset to flex with the business as it grows.

You will additionally possess the following skills & attributes:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster collaborative relationships across functional teams
  • Knowledge of SCADA and site communications
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Risk Management experience
  • A high level of stakeholder engagement experience
  • Time management and solid organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of strategic initiative
  • Advanced M/S Office skills including Excel
