Chandler Macleod have teamed up with a leading state government agency to find Victoria's best Child Protection Officers for a variety of Senior specialised opportunities.

Practice Leaders and Team Managers

In these leadership roles, you will play a key part in ensuring the cohesion of knowledge and skills is utilised across the Organization to ensure best-practice methods are used to manage cases for Children and Youth at risk. There are a range of specialised roles in this space:

Aboriginal Family Led Decision Making - Various Locations
This leadership role will work collaboratively with practitioners and teams to strengthen case practice with Indigenous children and families. You will be responsible for co-convening Aboriginal Family Led Decision Making meetings for Indigenous clients to ensure the safety, stability and development of children and young people. You will work in partnership with the community convenor and Aboriginal organisations in providing community education, training and consultation.

Case Planning - Various Locations
With formal delegation to endorse case plans including family-led decision making approaches, you will be responsible for providing expert case advise and leadership that will support and develop child practitioners. You may also undertake case practice quality audits and provide regular forums and reflective practice sessions.

Sexual Exploitation - Various Locations
You will play a critical role in the protection of children and young people from sexual exploitation and be responsible for providing expert particle advice and leadership on these matters. You will support practitioners and other key partners in integrating theory and practice on case management intervention and build key relationships and systems to have effective and safe environments for young people and children. You will effectively assist in the identification of children at risk and work with Police to prevent it and support young people to recover.

Practice Leader - Various Locations
You will provide expert case advice and leadership, and support the development of child protection practitioners in integrating theory and practice in case management. You will support practice to develop plans to bring about necessary changes toe ensure the safety and development of youth. You will also undertake quality audits and provide reflection and forum sessions

Team Manager - Community and non-community based
In an on-site, or community based, environment, you will provide operational and strategic approaches to ensure effective services and responses for families and children at risk. You will be required to develop the education on statutory processes and responsibilities. You will work to strengthen case practice, provide effective service deliver and support other practitioners

What you will bring to the role:

  • A Social Work Degree or Equivalent OR a recognized Diploma of Community Services Work or Similar that involved fieldwork placement is a mandatory requirement of this role
  • You will have a minimum 2 years of experience in leadership and management roles
  • Strong operational and decision-making skills on processes for Child Support
  • Strong Stakeholder management and communication skills
  • You will have applied knowledge in childhood development, risks and support
  • An understanding on the relevant legislative frameworks around Child Youth and Families Act
  • Proven experience in child support, social work or family related counselling services
