Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an EL1 Policy/Program Manager on a contract for 9 months with potential extension 12 months.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Policy / Program Managers would be required to undertake a range of activities, which may include:

  • implementing large scale programs working closely with IT
  • developing robust and evidence-based rationale to support development of and changes to policy
  • undertaking high level policy research and analysis from multiple sources, identifying trends to develop policy solutions
  • determining appropriate policy development methodology to guide consultation and policy development
  • evaluating costs, benefits, risks, and opportunities associated with policy options to recommend suitable solutions
  • design and review policy frameworks in new or complex policy areas requiring detailed analysis and coordination across agencies
  • analyse and interpret policy performance indicators in complex areas of policy to evaluate policy effectiveness and make recommendations for ongoing improvement
  • respond to complex and sensitive requests for policy advice
  • procurement, program, and contract drafting and management
  • policy lead for each program, including identification and establishment of new policies and contracting arrangements
  • providing policy advice and support including facilitating connections with colleagues and other Government Agencies
  • managing each program's integrity, risk, and assurance processes
  • produce briefs, minutes, reports and other documents and statistical reports to a high standard.

Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following capabilities/experience and/or qualifications:

  • qualifications and/or extensive experience in policy, program management, contract management, business, law, or related fields
  • high levels of interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) to ensure deliverables contribute to achieving a large-scale reform
  • strategic thinking and conceptual skills
  • planning and organisational skills
  • sound judgement and the ability to effectively lead a team
  • agility and resilience to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline security clearance.
