Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Policy Officer on a contract.

Position Overview

The APS6 Policy Officer will be responsible for leading work to improve the user experience through:

  • using innovative problem-solving skills to identify solutions to client access policy issues;
  • supporting the process to seek Government approval to leverage technology solutions to improve access to quality aged care services.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • supporting the development of new policy proposals and business cases to government;
  • analysing and interpreting data and other sources of evidence to determine areas of focus and concern;
  • developing hypotheses and recommended courses of action to the Executive in the form of briefs, minutes and verbal presentations;
  • implementing solutions using a project management based approach;
  • communicating with internal and external stakeholders; and
  • managing junior staff as required.

  • experience in budget and policy development processes;
  • a good communicator (both verbal and written), energetic and self-motivated;
  • keen to take on new challenges and opportunities and learn new skills;
