Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Policy Officer on a contract for 12 months with potential extension.

Position Overview

We are seeking to engage a collaborative, organised and preferably experienced policy officer to support enterprise governance including by assisting with secretariat support. Our ideal candidate will be a strong team player and communicator with experience in committee secretariat work and at least three of the following areas:

  • program and/or policy advice
  • corporate planning and reporting
  • corporate risk and assurance
  • communications planning and stakeholder engagement
  • office administration and supporting senior leadership.

Detailed Requirements

You will assist managers to coordinate strategic decision-making processes and the implementation of decisions, including by:

  • organising and coordinating meetings including Senior Executive Service committees
  • drafting and coordinating input to and clearance of a wide range of papers that may include briefs, plans, reports, meeting records, governance procedures, and communications material
  • tracking and reporting on committee business and assurance, risk, and performance management processes
  • liaising with colleagues across the Australian Climate Service and within stakeholder organisations, including with senior managers
  • managing administrative processes including procurements.
