Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Policy Officer on a contract for 6 months.

About the Role:

The National Security Engagement team (NSE Team) in International Division is seeking talented, energetic individuals with strong policy, analytical and communication skills to join our team. We require applicants who are strategic thinkers, effective collaborators and willing to work across a broad range of initiatives. Across our division, we work on international education policy challenges and initiatives that support the sustainable development and growth of our vibrant International education sector.

Skills & Experience:

  • Managing and contributing to the development of junior APS staff
  • Developing draft policy advice for presentation to the Minister or Executive
  • Conduct research and analysis activities in support of new policy
  • Provide detailed technical, professional, and/or policy advice in relation to complex problems to assist with strategic planning and policy development
  • Preparing draft reports, briefing papers, speeches, Ministerial correspondence and discussion papers
  • Managing relationships with stakeholders by anticipating and responding to stakeholder needs and expectations
  • Maintaining knowledge of policies and legislation relevant to Australia's international education sector
  • Contributing to strategic planning for longer-term initiatives.

  • Coordinate procurement processes, contract management and risk management in line with government rules and processes.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline security clearance /NV1 clearance preferred.
