An exciting opportunity now exists for a self-driven and experienced payroll professional to assist with End of Financial Year activities with a government organisation based in Port Macquarie.
Why the team needs you
As the Payroll Officer you will be the primary point of customer service to employees across the business. Delivery of a quality, timely and accurate payroll service, along with reporting and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Responsible for data entry, calculation and electronic lodgement of all employee pays, expenses and other entitlements (including superannuation).
- Responsible for data entry and processing of employee timesheets within given timeframes, including 7-day rotating rosters, weekend rosters and shift rosters, leave costing, overtime, higher duties, allowances and deductions.
- Responsible for accurate plant costings within adopted timeframes.
- Preparation and remittance of authorised deductions.
- Review and prepare for processing all employee expenses claims.
- Monitor and check employee time in lieu balances and associated reporting to management

To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Experience in Authority desirable but not a necessity
- Understanding of payroll conventions, calculations and determinations, payroll best practices and legislative compliance.
- A systems mindset - with the ability to adapt to new or unfamiliar systems and processes.
- Strong attention to detail with highly developed numerical capability
