We are currently recruiting to fill a permanent full time opportunity in Tamworth for an experienced Payroll Officer.

The Payroll Officer will be responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of high quality payroll support to stakeholders across the organisation in accordance with the organisation's values and policies. In addition to providing payroll support, the Payroll Officer will also be responsible for providing regular support to the Human Resources and Finance functions.

The day to day activities for the Payroll Officer will include:

  • Undertaking all transactional payroll activities in an accurate, compliant, efficient and timely manner. This will include communication, correspondence, record keeping, file maintenance and data entry
  • Provision of support in all generalist areas of finance including coaching, advice and process guidance
  • Being the first point of contact for payroll related enquiries ensuring that queries are resolved in a timely and efficient manner
  • Supporting the development and implementation of finance initiatives and systems by being an active member of the finance team
  • Demonstrating a high level of problem solving skills and working with a sense of urgency in the resolution of issues
  • Providing guidance and administrative support to managers, ensuring that all aspects of the employee lifecycle are adequately reflected by accurate records

    To be considered for this position, candidates will:
  • Have 3 years experience in payroll/finance or equivalent
  • Have a current NSW Driver's Licence
  • Have a tertiary qualification in HR or Cert III in Business or equivalent (desirable however not necessary)
  • Have knowledge of relevant industrial relations instruments and associated processes
  • Have a demonstrated knowledge and experience of payroll and HR Legislation and processes e.g. interpretation of awards and legislation, tax, superannuation
  • Have a demonstrated ability to maintain ongoing integrity of data in a payroll system
  • Be able to plan and manage conflicting priorities
  • Have a proficient knowledge and understanding in MS Office and web based applications

    On offer for this position is a competative hourly rate on a full time permanent basis with an immediate start for the right person.
