We are currently on the lookout for x5 Payroll team memebers and x1 Payroll Team Lead for one of our State Government clients.
As a member of the payroll services team, you will be accountable to provide a range of business-related payroll services in response to ticketed queries. Ticketed queries are received via a CRM platform and are allocated to team members daily, initial training regarding the CRM platform will be provided.
Tickets will be allocated to the ‘team lead’ and he/she is expected to monitor performance and productivity of all the team members. You will be working alongside an established payroll services team to address the high volume of unresolved tickets and concurrently ensure capability and capacity to meet ongoing demand.
Each member of the team will be provided a laptop and access to required systems. There will be an on-boarding process for the team to ensure that eveyone is comfortable accessing the operating procedures and all essential platforms.
Team members can work remotely OR from the CBD office.
You will be engaged for a period of 3 months with potential extensions, to support processing tickets in key demand areas including:

- general queries
- overpayments preparation of case details
- leave queries and applications
Responsibilities:
VPS 5:
- Preparing and processing the fortnightly payroll
- Undertaking transactions relating to employment conditions and benefits
- Identify and prepare documentation regarding salary overpayments and recovery
- Updating and maintaining associated personnel and payroll records
- Answering general queries about employment conditions and benefits
- Have experience with and capacity to use corporate systems, databases, spreadsheets and registers using SAP and Microsoft software
- Work with Payment Services leadership group to set and achieve key performance indicators and standards
- Leading and supporting individuals to achieve their potential and contribution to organisational goals and outcomes, where relevant, managing and monitoring specific improvement objectives in annual improvement plans relating to the area of responsibility
- Operate as an effective member of the payroll team, regularly contributing to developing better systems and practices across payroll
- Provide advice and recommendations to management for the improvement of policies, processes, controls, and systems in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and guidelines.
- Be a reliable source of expertise, assisting and supporting augmented team members to build their competence and where required, act more formally as mentor/coach for a payroll officers, across the team.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and Comply with the Financial Management Act 1994 and other relevant legislation, regulations and government directives, policies, and guidelines.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of improved business practices and processes and support the implementation of improved and new business policies and practices.
- Work flexibly and collaboratively across the business to develop and foster strong positive relationships with stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
- Leverage evidence-based data analysis to influence operational outcomes and improvements across a broad range of customers and inter government organisations
- Operate within increased level of autonomy and accountability in delivering within broad strategic directions.
- Provide leadership and guidance based on advanced expertise and application of contemporary systems
- Respond productively to deliver solutions and outcomes in an organisational environment complicated by scale and complexity.

- Operate as an effective member of the payroll team, regularly contributing to developing better systems and practices across payroll.
- The expectation is that you will be able to process tickets (end to end) including complex assessment and review
Qualifications:
- Customer service experience, is essential
- Payroll service experience is essential
- SAP experience is essential
- Understanding of and familiarity with the Victorian Public Service is highly regarded
