The Opportunity

Chandler Macleod is currently recruiting for an experienced Payments Officer to join a leading Federal Government agency. This is an immediate start with a contract term of 16 months.

Job Title: APS4 Payments Officer

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: 31/12/2023

Pay Rate: $44 per hour + Super

Location: Parramatta, NSW

About the Role

The APS4 Payments Officer is a team membership position that will work within defined parameters relating to their area of responsibility. It will apply policy, principles, practices and procedures to achieve outcomes that supports and contributes to the Client's objectives.

The position will provide operational and administrative support that is informed and directed by sound knowledge and may undertake some research and analysis activities.

The APS4 Payments Officer will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice on a range of matters to resolve straightforward to moderately complex enquiries.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Investigating and resolving outstanding payment requests that have been rejected through the Client's provider and participant portals.
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payment enquiries.
  • Processing manual payments to providers and self-managed participants.
  • Working to resolve payment issues, guided by legislation, Client policies and standards, and Payments Branch Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Contribute to decision-making within the team/work area.
  • Consistently meeting team and individual work resolution targets.
  • Ensuring knowledge of and compliance with legislative, financial and administrative frameworks.
  • Maintaining an awareness of government decision-making processes, Agency guidelines and regulations.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will be a team player, highly organised and motivated with a demonstrated ability to work flexibly and to tight deadlines. Further to this, to be considered for the role you will also need:

  • Knowledge of computer/software applications - Microsoft Office computer based work
  • The ability to access and use client records management system (CRM) and associated business applications
