Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an Organisational Change Officer on a contract until June 2021.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Organisational Change Officer to support an active program of work. The client is developing an online tool, known as the Self Service Platform (SSP). The SSP provides a web hosted tool for political parties, other political participants and staff to transact their business and legislative requirements. This is a significant structural change as the client is moving away from manually receiving, processing and distributing the information.

The Organisational Change Officer's primary role is to assist in moving the organisation and its stakeholders in a structured but customised approach from current state to future state with the least amount of anxiety and resistance. The incumbent will listen to stakeholder questions & concerns to gauge level of understanding and develop customised and scaled plans to mitigate change resistance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the business areas to identify impact, transition plans and actions needed, to mitigate the impact of change on people both internal and external to the organisation.
  • Identify what the internal & external stakeholders need to know and do differently in order to implement the required changes.
  • Work with business areas of the program to integrate change management activities.
  • Participate in the refinement of any definition of roles and responsibilities.
  • Provide senior staff and change leaders with the support to champion and communicate the anticipated changes.
  • Set up a support desk for external stakeholders.
  • Create content in line with communications action plans.
  • Work closely with the project team, the National Training & Education Unit and the communications team to develop the necessary products and tools to ensure the changes are implemented effectively.
  • Develop content in line with requirements such as user documentation, intranet pages, documentation for a help desk, in system text, etc.
  • Other duties as directed

Our Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Good knowledge of organisational change management methodologies and tools.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including active listening skills.
  • Experience with implementation of organisational and process changes relating to the introduction of new technology solutions.
  • Well-developed problem solving skills and ability to proactively move roadblocks in a sensitive and positive (win-win) way.
  • Ability to develop trust and strong relationships with key personnel within client.
