Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an Organisational Change Manager on a contract until June 2021, with potential extensions of 12 months.

Position Overview

The primary focus of the role will be to provide both strategic and operational Organisational Change Management advice to support successful outcomes for the Indigo Program. The person in this role will immediately complete a change assessment, then design and execute Prosci ADKAR-based change strategies and plans required for the program team transitioning from a preparatory phase to delivery and implementation.

Success for this role will rely on the individual's ability to deliver in a fast paced and at times ambiguous environment, be a good cultural fit and an ability to challenge and drive thinking in new directions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement a Change Management Strategy and Change Management Plan for the Indigo Program including creating and implementing professional change artefacts based on the Prosci ADKAR framework.
  • Lead a team of change managers within the Indigo Program to implement relevant change activities at the project level, in line with the Indigo Change Strategy and Change Framework.
  • Manage and support staff to ensure high quality outputs, including building capability and encouraging career development. Work stakeholders to align change activities to the business and project schedules.
  • Facilitate workshops with relevant stakeholders to assist in the development of the Change Management Strategy and plans.
  • Identify and provide analysis on the implementation of change activities and highlight relevant issues that require attention, particularly related to the client's capacity to support successful change management.
  • Support the development of change management capability in the client, including facilitating change manager forums and working closely with the Enterprise Strategy and Design Section.
  • Develop and maintain key internal and external relationships, including liaising with stakeholders on policy, project or operational issues and responding to stakeholder needs and expectations. Represent the agency at meetings, conferences and seminars.
  • Make and communicate decisions using good judgement, expertise and knowledge, governed by legislation, regulations, best practice principles or relevant operating instructions and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties or assume responsibility of functions as directed from time to time.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline clearance.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in implementing organisational change across both the strategic and operational levels, including at least three years working in Organisational Change Management roles, specifically:
    • Demonstrated ability to analyse complex situations, provide strategic advice and offer change solutions and support to business managers and project managers;
    • Demonstrated ability in stakeholder analysis and change impact analysis to inform change, communications and program strategies and plans;
    • Demonstrated experience in the creation and distribution of professional change and communications artefacts including email, user guides, FAQs, instructional videos, etc; and
    • Proven experience introducing change successfully in respect of the adoption of changed job functions, business processes and technologies.
  • Proven ability to communicate with influence, negotiate outcomes and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff while developing capabilities, encouraging career development and embedding professionalism.
  • Demonstrated resilience including the ability to operate in a high-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills across a geographically dispersed network.
  • Actively support a positive workplace culture, with strong collaboration across the division and agency.
  • Relevant qualifications and/or industry certification. (Desirable)
  • Exposure to, and experience in applying the ADKAR methodology. (Desirable)
