Why the team needs you

As the region continues to experience significant growth, the Community Infrastructure Division of Port Macquarie Hastings Council are looking for an Operations Engineer to bring specialist civil infrastructure engineering support to City’s Transport and Stormwater Network.

On a typical day, this role will:
  • Provide Engineering Support for road, bridge, and stormwater network maintenance
  • Provide Engineering Support for minor civil infrastructure works
  • Provide Engineering Support for large annual programs involving bitumen sealing and asphalt works
  • Coordinate with engineers, coordinators, and team leaders the management of contractors, plant, labour, and equipment
  • Conduct regular inspections and manage expectations of the community
  • Ensure services are delivered to Council policies, procedures, standards, and regulations
What you’ll bring to the team

First and foremost, you will share PMHC passion to improve the community’s quality of life and play a part of city-shaping projects that change the way we move around our city. To help us achieve this we are looking for someone who has a Degree in Civil Engineering or significant demonstrated experience in a similar role.

Your communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to work effectively with diverse teams and team members. You will also utilise these skills to liaise with clients and other stakeholders, providing them with information to create the best outcomes for their projects.
With strong time management, problems-solving, and prioritisation skills, you will effectively manage the constantly changing priorities faced in this role, providing effective and timely solutions for the planned and emergency repairs of the Council's infrastructure assets.

Salary: (exclusive of super): In the range of $100,083.60 to $112,626.72 depending on skills and experience

Vehicle: This role would qualify for a Leaseback Motor Vehicle or Vehicle Allowance
