A rare opportunity is available for a dynamic and experienced safety leader to join a large infrastructure company based in Western Sydney.
The business is in a massive growth and transformation phase and working alongside major players in government and large private infrastructure projects.
You will manage a team of safety professionals whilst providing contemporary Health & Safety Leadership and Risk Management practices to ensure the team go home safe and healthy every day,

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and Managing a team of Health & Safety professionals
  • Contributing to and ensuring the execution of the Health & Safety Strategy
  • Report ownership, development, writing and presentation (board level)
  • Co-management and ownership of the H&S Audit program
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with HS, Operational and Corporate stakeholders
  • Escalation point for all proactive and reactive Health & Safety issues within area of responsibility
  • Providing leadership, technical advice and solutions for Health & Safety related issues
  • Coaching and building capability in-field and within Operational teams for key Health & Safety activities including:
  • Safety culture and leadership activities
  • Change Management, Risk Management
  • Incident response, escalation, reporting, investigation and action management
  • Safety inspections and Fatal Risk Control Checks
  • Relevant Health & Safety digital systems
  • Implementation and ownership of the Endeavour Energy Health & Safety Management System
  • Conducting audits, inspections and high potential incident investigation (ICAM)
  • Contribution to strategic Health & Safety programs (including project team membership and implementation within area or responsibility
  • Health & Safety Management System ownership, implementation and improvement
  • Leading strategic project teams
  • Any other tasks as requested or directed by Head of Health & Safety

Skills required:

  • Exceptional leadership skills
  • Advanced communication skills with the ability to synthesise and communicate complex technical ideas
  • Proven ability to understand commercial impacts to health and safety and ability to articulate risks to stakeholders in a commercial setting
  • Exceptional ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Demonstrated experience writing board reports and managing multiple stakeholders throughout board reporting cycles
  • Exceptional project management skills with the proven ability to deliver successful programs on budget and within set timeframes
  • Demonstrated experience managing project teams to deliver outcomes
  • Proven research skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Exceptional ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Experience delivering safety and culture change programs

Ideally the successful applicant will have 10+ years experience in a similar/professional role with relevant Industry experience in Construction, Energy or Utilities.
