Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Ministerial and Parliamentary Officer on a contract for 3 months with potential extension of 3 Months.

Position Overview

The Ministerial, Parliamentary & Cabinet (MinParl) manages ministerial and parliamentary functions to support engagement between the client and the Minister, and to meet parliamentary obligations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • providing high quality advice and support to staff in relation to ministerial and parliamentary procedures and requirements
  • managing the Ministerial and Parliamentary mailboxes
  • managing ministerial items through the workflow of the Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS) and SharePoint system
  • completing quality checks on all ministerial items to ensure high quality products are provided to Ministerial Offices and Executive
  • coordinating parliamentary responsibilities including Question Time Briefs, Parliamentary Questions on Notice, Parliamentary Inquiries
  • assisting the Assistant Director with managing Senate Estimates processes including
    • coordination of briefings and other requirements in the lead up to each Estimates Hearing
    • secretariat support on the day of Estimates Hearings
    • coordination of responses to question on notice from the Estimates Hearings
    • contributing to continuous improvement of MinParl workflows, processes and procedures.
  • contributing to the overall work of the broader team by working flexibly

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline security clearance.
