MINE SURVEYORS WANTED

We are currently seeking experienced Mine Surveyors for roles with Newcrest to operate at their Telfer Mine Site for a six month assignment with view to permanency.

Junior surveyors/engineering surveyors, who need a change in their careers, are also welcome to apply.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in the below:

  • A certificate or degree in general or mine surveying is essential
  • Adherence to Newcrest Telfer's NewSafe systems, safety standards and initiatives
    • Need to be able to perform Mine, production and infrastructure design marked outs or pick-ups in a timely and accurate manner
    • Need to be able to perform and model Pit and stockpile surveys to the standards and accuracy required
  • Experience with mining data management and mining software, preferably Maptek Vulcan and Maptek PointStudio
  • A licence and experience with UAV and drone operations and associated software packages (Pix4D, GlobalMapper) will be beneficial
  • Experience with GPS, Total Station and laser scanning
  • A sound understanding of good survey theory and practice
  • Need to be able to plan their day around tight production schedules to meet the daily/ weekly mining targets (time management is the key!)
  • Able to work in harsh conditions (heat) and away from home
  • Experience within a mining operation environment
  • Self-motivated and ability to work in a strong team environment

Candidates must also be able to:

  • Provide proof of current unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner
  • Fluent in English
  • Pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug Screen
  • Provide National Police Check (within 2 months)
  • Provide a current WA Driver's License
  • Provide Proof of COVID-19 Vaccinations
