Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Media Officer on a contract for 12 months with potential extension.

Position Overview

About the Role

The APS5 Media Officer (Labour Hire) will apply an understanding of the media and political landscape to support the team deliver high-quality advice and direction across the Agency and external stakeholders.

You will be a team-player that relishes the challenge of operating in a complex and changing environment. Your media skills will be complemented by sound judgement, resilience and integrity.

The position is expected to work under limited direction to undertake moderately complex to complex work.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting relationship management and building networks and connections with internal and external stakeholders, with a focus on journalists, the Minister's office and senior stakeholders.
  • Producing media and other communications products, including media releases, talking points and media plans to support announcements.
  • Identifying proactive opportunities for the department spokespeople and/or the Minister for the NDIS to engage with media.
  • Analysing media sentiment and data, and interpreting results to further strategic engagement.
  • Undertaking a wide variety of general tasks as required, including but not limited to, providing support for reporting, analytics and executive reporting and presentations.
