Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a APS6 Media Officer on a contract for 12 months with potential extension.

About the Role

The APS6 Senior Media Officer (Labour Hire) will help create awareness and build support for the department and the Agency by working with diverse internal and external stakeholders to help deliver a range of communications, media solutions and opportunities.

The position is expected under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, and precedents.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Seeking opportunities to promote the Scheme, with a particular focus on finding and telling individual stories about participants who are benefitting from their department supports.
  • Pitching participant stories and other media opportunities to journalists with a view of landing stories in mainstream media that help build community awareness and promote the Scheme.
  • Managing relationships and building strong networks and connections with internal and external stakeholders, with a focus on journalists, disability service providers, and Partners in the Community (PITC).
  • Managing and responding to media enquiries, media monitoring and identifying potential media risks.
  • Undertaking a wide variety of general tasks as required, including but not limited to, organising photo shoots, supporting Digital Media video shoots, and providing support for reporting, analytics and executive reporting and presentations.
