Chandler Macleod are very proud to be supporting Fortescue Metals Group with sourcing highly skilled Reliability Engineer for upcoming work at the Perth CBD office.

This role is responsible for providing reliability engineering techniques, data analysis, improvement projects and defect elimination for the fixed plant assets.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Define, develop and deliver targeted reliability and cost optimisation initiatives
  • Facilitate and support continuous improvement of maintenance strategies across the business
  • Engage and maintain strong relationships with site teams through regular site visits and interactions
  • Share learnings and improvements across all fixed plant sites
  • Provide technical expertise to support the business in resolution of challenging faults and issues
  • Assist site teams in conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major downtime events
  • Investigate new technologies and present value cases to the business where opportunities exist
  • Explore process, equipment and engineering opportunities to reduce risk exposures
  • Provide ongoing technical support to Projects, Operational Readiness, Procurement (tender request, evaluation, contract management), Offsite Repair, and Inventory tea

Equipment Technical Expertise

Primary Equipment Focus for this role (Dry Process - Crushing & Grinding):

  • Crushers (cone, jaw, gyro), feeders (apron, vibrating, belt), grinding (HPGR / Ball / SAG / vertical mills), train load out & unload, air classification, bag houses, hydraulic systems

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience (operational experience with fixed plant assets in the resources sector)
  • Well-developed interpersonal, facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels
  • Ability to develop and optimise maintenance strategies for fixed plant electrical equipment based on FMECA, RCM and RCA principals
  • Reliability experience, qualifications and formal training highly regarded
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems (SAP preferred)
