About the role

We are partnering one of Australia's leading resources companies, to secure the services of an experienced Mechanical Reliability Engineer. As an Mechanical Reliability Engineer within the maintenance department that reports to the Reliability Superintendent, this role entails the completion of maintenance strategy and minor cost improvement projects to improve the availability of mechanical apparatus whilst also supporting the completion of daily maintenance activities and assisting with the resolution of equipment breakdowns.

Classified Plant:

  • Management of classified plant logbooks and their entries,
  • Facilitation of routine statutory inspection of classified plant in liaison with CPIs,
  • Monitoring of defect resolution notification completion and escalation (if required) &
  • Advising capital project execution teams of classified plant requirements for new installations.
  • Operational readiness as per s3.4.2.2 of NKS-ENG-PRO-0010.

Asset Integrity:

  • Supporting mechanical AI defect remediation - QA/QC and guidance to support quality outcomes,
  • Performing ad-hoc welding inspections to support task execution,
  • Facilitate the Mechanical & Piping Asset Management* processes on-site and reporting on defect
  • completion for closure in SAI 360 by the principal plant engineer &
  • Technical scoping of defect remediation for mechanical & piping asset management with use of the
  • asset integrity scoping template for mechanical and piping assets.

This assignment will cover a minimal period of 6 months, on a 5/2 or 4/3 FIFO roster at Kalgoorlie Nickel Smelter, with strong likelihood of extension.
