Our Client, is looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Officer to join their team, based in Thevenard South Australia.
The successful applicant will be responsible for mechanical servicing, maintenance, installations and upgrades of all fixed and mobile plant and equipment within the area. To ensure that this plant is adequately maintained and remains available for all operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with cost effectively maintain the facilities and plant
  • Arrange transportation and delivery of critical spares, mobile plant, equipment consumables
  • Develop and implement solutions and strategies to ensure the timely and effective response to equipment failures and breakdowns within all plants
  • Responsible for fault finding and repairs to mechanical, hydraulic, diesel and pneumatic systems.
  • Maintenance and upkeep of general civic items such as doors, windows, birds-proofing, fencing and cladding
  • Ensure contractor permit to works and associated risk assessments are completed before the commencement of works
  • Attend site after normal working hours where equipment failure or breakdowns impact on immediate operations
  • Identify future maintenance budget requirements and capital upgrade project assessments and budgets
  • Prepare and submit maintenance reports as requested
  • Drive compliance processes and ensure that all OH&S targets are either achieved of exceeded

    Essential Skills & Experience
  • Trade certificate - Mechanical, fitting & turner or similar
  • Competent in interpreting hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams
  • Competent with computer programs including Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft office suite
  • Knowledge and experience with installation, commissioning, fault finding of diesel, hydraulic & pneumatic installations
  • Ability to arc and oxy weld and oxy cut
  • Previous experience within the grain industry or a bulk handling industry background
  • Ability to work at height and within confined restricted spaces
  • Previous experience with power transmission maintenance and fault finding
  • Sound knowledge of technology to support business and delivery of role
