Based in the Illawarra and Wollondilly regions of the southern coalfields (about 75 kilometres south of Sydney) our client is part of a globally diversified mining and metals company.

They have an immediate requirement for a mechanical production trades operator to join their production team to support both production and maintenance activities at their Appin Mine sites.

The successful applicant will be part of a motivated high achieving team and must have:

  • A mechanical trade background with industrial experience
  • A confined space ticket (with rescue highly regarded)
  • An advanced First Aid certificate (or the ability to acquire one)
  • A current Order 43 Coal Board Medical (or ability to acquire one)
  • A sound safety record and commitment to safety
  • Experience with Conveyors will be highly regarded
  • Underground Induction and working experience is essential

Responsibilities will include general control room duties (for which extensive training will be provided), routine cleaning, inspection, maintenance/repair & operator duties including conveyor and operational area clean-up, effective use of SAP to manage work plans, responding to plant and site wide break downs and the ongoing demonstration of and commitment to site safety.
