Chandler Macleod is looking to engage a Marketing Coordinator for a contract term of 2 months with a well-established NSW Government department. This role will be based in Parramatta.

Job Specification

Working closely with the Manager, Marketing and Digital, and Head of Marketing and Events, Greater Sydney Parklands, the role is responsible for implementing integrated marketing strategies, campaigns and initiatives for Greater Sydney Parklands and its agencies, specifically Western Sydney Parklands, Parramatta Park and Fernhill Estate, in line with the Trusts' plans of management and brand identity guidelines. This includes working with multiple internal and external stakeholders to produce and analyse marketing content and collateral that drives increased visitation, engagement and improved visitor experience across the agency's Parklands.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist in the development and delivery of marketing and promotional activities across the parks, including the management of communication tools, websites, social media forums, co-ordination of other event and program collateral, as well as the Greater Sydney Parklands and Trust brands.
  • Proactively position Greater Sydney Parklands and its agencies as leaders in park, venue and precinct facilities and management, providers of quality leisure facilities, events and natural and cultural heritage, with a view to increasing public and community engagement and supporting new business development.
  • Assist in researching new markets and marketing initiatives to form the basis for effective market strategy design and increase revenue.
  • Establish and maintain strong communication networks with external stakeholders, agencies and suppliers of goods and services required to deliver high quality marketing and communication strategies.
  • Support the promotion and communication of Greater Sydney Parklands, its agency Trusts and their programs, events and initiatives, including contributing to the development, and implementation, of communication and marketing collateral and signage, and assisting as appropriate with community consultation.
  • Maintain a database of current stakeholder and marketing partner contacts to facilitate cross-promotional opportunities and distribution of reports, events and related promotional information.
  • Ensure successful project implementation, including proposal drafting, project planning, budgeting, milestone achievement, outcome evaluation and post implementation review.

Key Challenges

  • Developing and managing effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders in order to deliver marketing and communication strategies for improved public awareness of the parks and their events and programs. These stakeholders include personnel in other Parkland authorities, other Government agencies, agencies and consultants and within local community groups.
  • Delivering innovative marketing collateral and material to support a diverse range of Park activities, including the property and business activities of the Trusts, to ensure awareness and engagement of the public and business communities.
  • Identifying contentious issues at the earliest timeframe and resolving them within the Trusts' policies and procedures, by consulting with the appropriate team members or by urgently escalating issues that are controversial, sensitive or which may generate adverse public/political ramifications.

About You

To be successful in this position, you will need to have the following:

  • Considerable experience in the marketing, communication and promotion of a wide range of public activities, events and programs, including a thorough knowledge of the appropriate platforms and tools including experience using CMS programs, managing social media channels and eDM platforms.
  • Ability to work creatively and effectively contribute to the development and implementation of innovative marketing and communication strategies, with an understanding of current visitor and audience engagement principles, issues and trends.
  • Experience in managing multiple competing priorities to successfully deliver business outcomes in a diverse and complex organisation (Government experience desirable).
  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing and/or Communications (or related discipline) or equivalent experience in Marketing and Digital Marketing.
