Position title: Maritime Data Management Research and Acquisition Contractor
Contract Estimation Duration: 6 Months initially with a possibility of extension(s)
Company Type / Size: Government - Defence - baseline clearance an advantage
Location: Wollongong - Sydney - NSW
Salary / Rate: APS 5 / 6 (DOE)
Purpose of this position:
This position will provide support to the client by analysing the current holdings of the client and investigating external data repositories for new data that needs to be acquired:

  • Analyse internal holdings of source data using client is internal.
  • Determine required datasets and liaise with external organisations for the acquisition of data.
  • Organise data exchange and license agreements where necessary
  • Document and maintain the process within the QMS and knowledge-share with the team
  • Maintain and update incoming data within Mediaflux
  • Store and manage records with the Records Management System

    General Requirements:
  • Lead and conduct complex imagery and geospatial intelligence analysis in support of the clients' interests.
  • Coordinate the delivery of analytical products that adhere to quality systems, procedures, standards and legislative requirements.
  • Provide advice on complex geospatial intelligence analysis and recommend the use of appropriate techniques and methodologies.
  • Apply expertise in complex imagery and geospatial intelligence analysis to meet the Clients' mission.
  • Build and sustain effective relationships with national and international stakeholders on matters of strategic national and the clients' interest.
  • Facilitate appropriate direction for the team by clearly communicating goals and objectives.
  • Assess and prioritise customer requirements and deliver expected outcomes.
  • Design and recommend solutions to issues impacting on the achievement of desired outcomes.
  • Accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes, share own expertise with others, and guide and mentor less experienced employees.

    Essential:
  • Experience with geospatial data entry, management and analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to establish and improve external relationships.
  • Experience storing and managing records within a Records Management System.

    Desirable:
  • Experience with a GIS software suite, such as ESRI ArcGIS.
